Photography came first, before product design, before anything else. I stepped away from it for a few years to build a career in product design, which taught me to ask why before how. Now I bring that thinking back to every shoot: the people, the product, the process behind what you do.

EnquireI'm a photographer based in Malmö, originally from Canada. I work with startups, cafes, workshops and shops, anyone with people behind the thing they make.
Photography's always been the thread. I picked up a camera before I ever worked in design. I spent a few years building a career in product design, and years before that in hospitality, and both taught me the same thing: how to read a room, put people at ease, and notice how something is actually used. I bring all of that back to a shoot, the same why-before-how thinking, the same care for the person in front of the camera. Design work lives at justinbauer.design.
